Excelcare

I've toured a few homes before I found Excelcare. As soon as I entered the door, I exclaimed to my daughter, “This is it!” The home was inviting, with a beautiful flower garden, and we were met by a friendly staff as we entered. The whole place is always clean with a fresh and pleasant smell. The staff are very attentive to my needs. If there was any issue, the manager/owner corrects it quickly. I also enjoy walks in the morning and our Sing-along time in the afternoon. There is a variety of food to select from. We get second or third servings as well, or alternate dish, like my favorite “Fideo.”

I've been with Excelcare for approximately seven years now. Every resident here, along with the staff, are like family to me.. My life has changed for the better. This is the first time in my life that I've been free from all my addictions. I personally couldn't ask for a better care. The manager/owner is a retired physician, and she makes sure we are well-hydrated and well-nourished. This is my safe and happy place.

My sister was diabetic. When she moved in at Excelcare, she was still recovering from a stroke that impaired her ability to walk, speak, feed herself and swallow. After a few months in the Excelcare program, her diabetes was totally reversed, her ambulation, and her speech dramatically improved. She also started feeding herself and could swallow solid food.

I came to Excelcare about six years ago. I consider my self very fortunate to be living here. The place is always clean, and so is my person. The Excelcare program goes beyond comfortable housing and delivering quality care. Residents are carefully screened for character and decency. We are a family of kind, considerate and respectable people. I feel safe and at home in this place. Somehow the program helped me dissolve a large kidney stone. My doctors were amazed. I have no plans to move elsewhere.

I cannot find anything to complain about. I love my private room, all decorated with purple flower designs on the window trimmings and my bed cover. It's quiet and peaceful where I'm at. Perfect place to do my puzzles. I've made friends. I get around with my walker.

I think I'm the most senior in this home, just turned 94. I walk with my walker everyday and can feed myself. I only need assistance in the bathroom. My moderate kidney failure improved from Stage 3 to Normal Stage 1. I enjoy being tucked in bed every night.

My mom has been a resident at Excelcare for over 2 years now. She frequently verbalizes to us that she gets treated very well and cared for, The staff, and especially the owner, Dr. Dorris, treat her like family, with patience, compassion and kindness.

Since my mom's arrival to this clean home care, it's been her home away from home. God has truly blessed her with a wonderful second home. She has made loving friends with the staff, especially the “boss” and other residents, who give her much love and patience, making her feel welcome.
