Pelican Ridge Post-Acute

The folks here took extremely good care of my dad in his final days. Hilary in particular was so kind to him, and made him feel special and nurtured when he was in a pretty terrible state of health, both mentally and physically. Thank you Gerry, Hilary, and Kathy for above and beyond great care for Dad!!

My grandmother and our family had a good experience here. My grandmother was here for two and a half weeks on hospice. All the employees were so kind and very caring. We’re forever grateful.

My father is currently at the facility under hospice care. I am really grateful for the care they have been providing my father during his last days. It has been extremely difficult for me, and everyone has been super helpful during this time.

I have told everybody about this place and all of the things that they do to keep all of the patients happy in the game room. I was very impressed with the Birthday party they have every month for all of the people that have birthdays that month. They decorate the room in birthday decorations and all of the patients are invited to attend the party and birthday cake is served. I have been here at a great time of the year because of the holidays and all of the special things they did for the residents. Every day there is something special going on that anybody can join in. I happen to love playing Bingo and the copies of real money they pay you if you win Bingo. The three girls that run the game room are wonderful. They are very upbeat and happy and pass their happiness on to everybody in the room. There is always music playing on the big screen or movies which are wonderful. I would be very unhappy if it were not for this great room and the people in here.

I had a very good experience at Pelican Ridge, the nca’s all were very kind and helpful to me. thank you to all of you and have a Happy New Year.

My husband lived for almost 3 years thanks to this place my husband would’ve never made it that long. I would recommend this place to anyone. He was doing so good when he was living here he was always happy and clean… Unfortunately, Medi-Cal for loved ones and I couldn’t afford anything at the time. Unfortunately he went to another place in Anaheim not care for him or giving the proper care. He passed away not long after leaving. I wish he could’ve stayed at Pelican Ridge would be alive kept him alive for years they make sure that he got the proper appointments, etc. This place is a godsend. Thank you everyone who works at Pelican Ridge we were able to have three good years to see our loved one. I don’t believe he would’ve survived without all of your help. Thank you.

I want to acknowledge a great pair of CNA that work together. CNAs Maura Cabrera and Letty España. I observed the dedication patience, love and intergity. That they have to their jobs. Giving Pelican Ridge a great name. I feel very fortunate and very happy. Having returned here. Because a year and a half ago i was here as a patient. I have recommened this place to anyone. Our mother was cared for at Pelican Ridge Post Acute for six years until she passed away peacefully. During those years, we came to know the staff and leadership closely — and we could not have asked for a more dedicated, compassionate, and professional team.When the facility came under new management in 2021, led by Lawrence Talebi, everything changed for the better. Under his leadership, Pelican Ridge transformed from an ordinary care center into a vibrant, positive, and genuinely caring community. The energy level went up noticeably — the staff became more engaged, the communication improved, and our mother’s happiness reflected that transformation. We received regular updates about her health, and the staff always treated her with warmth and respect. There were so many wonderful caregivers, but a few names will forever stay in our hearts — her nurses, Bani and Elizabeth, and her medication managers, Kevin and Maureen. They were truly angels who guided our mother with kindness, patience, and professionalism through her final years. We are especially grateful to Lawrence for his leadership — for recruiting, training, and retaining such a high-quality team. His vision and commitment have turned Pelican Ridge from a “me too” facility into a standout home of genuine care and human warmth. To the entire Pelican Ridge team — from our family to yours — thank you for caring for our mom with love and dignity every single day.

We came to Pelican Ridge acute facility for mom who is a resident here now. We never expected to be treated so well, so kindly and with respect. The wonderful people who work here are truly focused on making the patient well and as independent as possible. They have a big heart and truly care. In our case, having a very small family their holding one’s hand makes the biggest difference. Big shout out to all areas, Jackie, Director of Social Services, Sonya, Blanca and all the girls in activities area, the nurses and team who help everyday taking excellent care. The facility is clean. We recommend it highly.

This review will be one of many. But today this review is for Elizabeth, the hair stylist, who is exceptional and very kind. Outstanding and professional. Her service is offered free once a month and the line is a block long waiting to have one’s hair done beautifully. Thank you Elizabeth and thank you Pelican ridge for offering this excellent stylist without charge.

I was fortunate enough to be at Pelican Ridge for 3 1/2 years. The care was excellent! The entire staff was extremely pleasant and helpful during my stay. My experience with the Nurses and CNA’S was heartwarming and wonderful. Karla the Social Worker was genuinely a blessing. Always helpful and pleasant. I would put a loved one here and never need to worry about their care. A wonderful place, but most importantly, wonderful, caring staff. Thumbs up Pelican Ridge!

Both my mother-in-law and now a friend have stayed here and on both occasions, the care has been wonderful. The place is updated, clean, and on the occasions when I visited (everyday when my mother in law lived there), the place did not smell. It’s literally a block or two from Hoag, a top-ranked hospital. I feel that they treat its residents like family, from what I have seen. I don’t know about other stations or wings, but on both occasions, the team at Station 1 have been great. Additionally, the Activities Director keeps the residents active with regular activities that seem to be enjoyed by those who attend. It’s a very friendly team I would recommend this place to anyone who’s looking for a facility that offers the care that Pelican Ridge offers.

I had to stay here for 5 weeks after a surgery I had. The facility is so clean. There is no smell from any rooms. Well cleaned every day. The staff are amazing. I especially need to call out Lorena Infante. I felt so taken care of by her. My husband called her my guardian Angel. She always went above and beyond.

My mother spent a few months recovering at Pelican Ridge, and I want to acknowledge and thank the following individuals who were instrumental in her care. A very special THANK YOU to Jaime in the facility’s Business Office. Jaime provided excellent assistance in navigating my mother’s health care coverage. Also thankful for the kind and helpful staff: nurse Dominique, CNAs Elsa & Daisy, the physical therapists, case managers, and the young woman at the front desk who always greeted us nicely.

Really great care and excellent nursing staff, great facilities for your loved ones. The office staff made sure I had everything I needed every day, the administrator was very professional. Would definitely recommend!

Very helpful and caring and loving and activity stuff were very friendly.

Pelican Ridge has been a perfect place for my elderly brother. From the minute my husband and I stepped foot in the business office to help him get insurance and finances completed we have been so happy with the extra mile that Melissa and Jaimie take to communicate with all involved. The nurses call me when needed and Mr Toby is a gem.

Activity Dept is the best team. They encourage my mom to get out of her bed. She really loves Emily and everyone in the activity department. Thanks!

Pelican Ridge has been a great experience for me. I would like to acknowledge Georgina who is a CNA who does a great job of helping me with whatever I may need. The activities department are the best, they are so nice and loving! They do a great job with doing manicures.

The crew and staff here at Pelican Ridge have been great. Very helpful, caring and professional. Emily, Mialo, Elizabeth, Diego, John and of course Key are all doing a great job! I have worked with almost all of the PT and OT team while at Pelican Ridge and they are pushing me hard, but that’s ok. It’s what I need to get ready for my prosthetic. This facility is incredibly clean the staff is also very kind and helpful. Pelican also has a great management 100% loved the service here.

My mother has been here since April 16. She has received good care, food, physical therapy. It’ a miracle she is eating better & has some right hand movement since her stroke April 4th. All thanks to the wonderful staff at Pelican Ridge. Here is heaven. God bless you All. The nice lady from Activities has been an Angel.

My mom is a patient here and she cannot speak English well. Despite the language barrier my mom always gets what she needs and CNA staff is very helpful. Lorena CNA and Jackie from social services are especially helpful. I feel very comfortable trusting them with my mom’s care. Highly recommend. I come every single day and I witness nothing but helpful staff.

Teresa is doing a great job of taking care of all of her patients. Teresa is working very hard every day. I appreciate everything she does for me and my bed brother laying in the bed next to me on my right. Thank you Teresa.

My experience here at Pelican Ridge has been excellent! I’m here going thru some intense physical therapy to gain strength after having an amputation due to a nasty infection. The entire team here has been great! They all are caring and professional. I would highly recommend Pelican Ridge as a great place to recover. Thank you!

My aunt has been there for an extended stay and we have nothing but good things to say. The staff has been great to me and my aunt and really attentive. We’ve developed a good relationship with the nurses, physical therapists, and the facility is well kept and in a really nice location. Very happy that we chose this location 🙂

The Center is always clean, and the staff and directors are incredibly helpful especially Kesha. It’s a place where you can feel confident that your loved ones are well cared for.

Pelican Ridge Post Acute provided the most amazing care for my brother who was admitted after two weeks in the hospital and could barely move. They provided outstanding nursing and PT care. The social worker, Jackie kept me informed and arranged for a smooth transition home after 4 weeks. My brother mentioned Teresa especially for providing amazing care. Early on, he was too weak to reach the phone and I would call the nursing station and someone would immediately go to his room and make sure that he could answer. I live out of state and was so grateful he was in such good hands. Highly recommend for anyone in need of such services.

Of all the Rehab facilities our family visited (4 in total) Pelican Ridge Acute Rehab in Newport Beach had the most comprehensive physical/occupational therapy setups. We found their staff knowledgable, competent, friendly & caring. Our family member showed GREAT strides in improvement under their care.

Pelican Ridge post acute is one of the best skilled nursing facilities that I ever experience. It is located in Newport Beach and they provide the best care for their residents and have very loving and compassionate employees. I would recommend Pelican Ridge to everyone. The Director of nursing go to extra mile to make sure that her residents are satisfied and getting the best care that is needed.

At Pelican Ridge, this is one of the facilities that has the most outstanding staff. The nurses does phenomenal job, they go the extra step to satisfy their residents. They are very loving, compassionate and hard-working. I am pleased to share my work experience as the Activities Director for Pelican Ridge Post Acute. In the activities department we offer events, performances, parades and activities beyond that many nursing homes cannot provide, since for our administrator one of his priorities is to provide care and happiness according to the needs of each of our residents.

I have been a part of the therapy team here for almost 2 years now and would whole-heartedly recommend this facility to anyone in need of short-term rehabilitation.

I am an Occupational Therapist that works at this facility currently. I have really enjoyed being a staff member at this facility and have only positive experiences to report. The rehab team is always supportive and helpful throughout daily tasks. Aubree, the Director of Rehab, is a great team lead and example for how to be patient forward and positive always. I enjoy working with patients on a daily basis and am very satisfied with the rehab staff at this facility.

My grandma recovered here for a few weeks and I was skeptical at first, but right away my family and I were reassured that she’d be well taken care of! Everyone was so kind to my grandma and genuine! Thank you to all the staff for caring for our beloved matriarch.

Just wanting to give a big shout out to the incredible staff at this amazing facility! Marco was very professional and kind in managing my mom’s stay here. Teresa was a blessing and an inspiration in helping my mom in her daily tasks. The PT department is outstanding and caring in patients’ recovery. Ernesto and Kimbery were a joy and guided Mom in her activities. There were others that I didn’t get their names but know that you also are included in the A+ Team at Pelican Ridge Post-Acute! It’s because of all of you that my mom had a wonderful experience at the worst time in her life. God Bless all of you and your families! This facility gets not only 5 stars it gets 100 stars beautiful decor!

My husband is staying here prior to his surgery. It is immaculately clean, bright,with efficient and caring staff. Their Physical Therapy department always makes my husband smile. Their occupational therapy staff are very professional and the activities are enjoyable….they fuss over my husband while they gently challenge him. But the real treasure is their head of admissions, Keishall. Everyone calls her “KK”. That woman is a joy. When needing to secure a private room due to his doctor’s orders…she made sure that was done. She arranged transportation from her facility to his pre-op doctor’s visits with efficiency and good humor. She is so competent and has made any challenges getting transportation so easy. I am eternally grateful for her “can do” attitude, professionalism and helpfulness. What ever they are paying her…it is not enough. She is a true ambassador for the facility and is so helpful. They are upgrading their facility and expanding services so there was some construction noise during the day that my husband noted. I would highly recommend this facility. Clean, cheery, competent staff, and their angel, Ms. Keishall who can get things done with her super powers and compassion. 5 stars

This facility is clean and recently refurbished. However, as with most care facilities, the staff is spread very thin and the patients/residents are not given much space (a typical semi-private room barely has space for two beds, two bedside tables and maybe a visitor chair if you’re lucky.) If you want your loved one properly cared for, create a good relationship with key staff and be present as often as possible. A lot can be said for close surveillance and follow-up. My Brother in Law’s care was better than I had expected for someone on Medicare and without assets because we followed the above advice.

I was a resident here from March 2016 til my discharge Sept 2018. I am forever grateful for the care, support, compassion, & friendship I received in my stay here! I found the staff as a whole very professional and caring. Are there problems? Of course but they make an effort to address them. The therapy Dept were top notch in their knowledge and the way they handled the residents. I found it to be the right place at the right time for me, as I left as well as I can be physically and a better person with a positive outlook.

When our daughter entered Hospice care, we were fortunate enough to be guided to the facility by Dale. We cannot say enough kind words to describe the care she received there. They not only cared for her needs with skill and kindness, they treated us, her family members with the same respect. Fernando facilitated getting her settled into her room with great efficiency and made her comfort his number one priority. We spoke with him often and appreciated his consoling words. Aimee was always there to answer our questions and address any concerns we had about her nursing care. In the 2 1/2 weeks our daughter was there, prior to her passing, she was cared for by a number of the RN, LVN, and CNA staff. To single any one of them out as extra special would not be possible. So we would like to send our utmost thanks and appreciation to each and everyone of them.

This is a wonderful facility! It’s clean, good meals for the patients. The daily Operations are running very efficiently. The staff is outstanding! Everytime I visit my friend that is a patient there, I leaving knowing he is in great hands!! I am so happy with the care and attention he is giving on a daily basis. I would highly recommend it.

Too bad I can only give it five stars. The facility deserves 10+ star rating. I was sent to this place weighing 111 pounds my normal weight was 180. After spending over three months in the hospital I was released here to get better and increase my weight and learn how to walk and swallow food and beverages again. I was very leery as I’ve been to two other nursing homes in Orange County that were awful. My first contact with one of the staff was Christy the speech therapist who said she was there to help me swallow my food and check in and see what my capabilities were for eating and drinking. Little did I realize that she would become an advocate for me with all the departments in the outside world. This was a day before they declared the CV 19 wow pandemic. Thank you very much for being my advocate and getting my weight from 111 pounds to 135 in one month. You also were my inspiration to put forth 100% effort in physical therapy to get me to walk with a walker to get out of bed also are responsible for making sure my medicines and all other requests were done to my satisfaction. Thank you to Frank in the food service department for giving me a menu of all of the monthly meals breakfast lunch and dinner and showing me that I could select an alternative meal for lunch and dinner and if I did not like the alternative is I could get a hamburger or a quesadilla or a salad. You also told me and made sure that I got my two snacks a day in the afternoon and at night time you’ve got me hooked on graham crackers milk and a banana. Thank you to all the nurses, Nurses aides, and cleaning staff who made sure that I was comfortable clean and my medications were properly administered in a timely manner. There are too many names to mention at this time but all I can say is THANK YOU The physical rehabilitation department is outstanding all of the therapists were super impressed me and made sure that I did not over exert myself but made sure that I was on track and improving myself daily. Last but not least the administrative staff and all of the people and administration building and entertainment you are the best. I’ve never known of a facility where you could just go to an office of the administrator knock and enter and talk one on one. This is coming from a man who is in the healthcare industry and used to sell and service nursing homes and hospitals and I have been in to rehabilitation facilities in orange county that were hellholes. This place is truly the best. When I left this facility on Friday I never received so many miss you and goodbye and good luck wishes from So many people. I have surgery scheduled in June of this year and know that if I need a facility for rehabilitation I will return. If my parents were still alive today and needed a healthcare facility I would take them here.

I was very pleased with the care my 88 year old father was given after my father fell and fractured his hip and broke his wrist. Everyone at the facility from your Nurses to your PT’s were very helpful and friendly always willing to help whenever he needed someone.
