I have found the team at Sunrise East Meadow to be fantastic and consistently go above and beyond. We are extremely blessed to have found such a wonderful place to take care of my mother in her final years.
What we like the most about Sunrise of East Meadow is the friendly staff and how it is easy to ask questions. We also like the group activities. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.
We chose Sunrise of East Meadow because of the friendliness, availability, and ability to take care of needs. Staff are a little slow answering pager calls, but like that at all facilities. Otherwise highly recommend.
She has now passed but she did enjoy her stay at Sunrise of East meadow and I would highly recommend. It was quite expensive but the care was wonderful. The staff was friendly, understanding and helpful to my Aunt. The food was very good as well. There were many activities which my aunt enjoyed and she met some residents who became her friends. She truly enjoyed living there. I would highly recommend Sunrise of East Meadow if you financially can afford it.
What I just wrote on my FB acc: Before continuing to make the phone calls needed to address my father's death, I had to write to praise the assisted living/memory care facility where he lived for a year. The Sunrise of East Meadow became an extended family to us. The care provided to my father was excellent and they also notified me of any changes in his condition, or medication needed. The staff was compassionate and they all seemed happy to help. This was an experience unlike my father's prior assisted living facility, which looked more upscale and provided better entertainment, but the care was really lacking. At Sunrise, everyone was kind and responsive, from the aides to the nursing staff to the Directors. I am so very grateful to them.

If there was an option to put more than five stars, I definitely would! My mother who was a nurse for 42 years and took care of the elderly in the psych ward, could not have been better repaid by the amazing staff and reminiscence team at sunrise! From the second we got there, I felt like I didn’t even want to leave! Heather and Mary are a dynamic duo that show not only the love that they have for these residents, but for their job as well! The names could go on and on, but there are too many, They all deserve to be recognized for one reason or another. Unfortunately, our visit was short due to financial difficulties. But in the short time that we were there, my mother received the BEST care anybody could ever get when they are in the position of either suffering from dementia, or just in any type of need. It broke my heart to leave, because everyone on this floor, including the staff downstairs, were so warm and inviting and just simply amazing! The simple details that they put in ma
Overall experience was a 4, Cleanliness was a 5, Friendliness of staff was a 5, Meals and Dining was a 4, Activities although plentiful, was 3.5 ( my dad was on Dementia ward) so tough to rate), Value of cost 3.5 ! Place was great, but was not fully explained about overriding charges ! There were plenty of add on costs, that put pressure on his ability to afford to stay there when they determined he needed aides to watch him sleep and just sit in his wheelchair !
Depends on measure of health care, guess I would say yes I would recommend to others. I picked this community because of a health care reason.
Except for the high cost (<fee removed> a month) I have found nothing wrong with Sunrise. The meals seem very good. The staff has been so nice. Just very expensive.
The facility is very nice. Most of the staff are very nice. Like anywhere, some staff people are conscientious and others are there just to get paid. They have a good program to get the residents involved. Although they possess a higher license than most senior facilities, they are limited to what they can do. If you require additional assistance, you will be required to hire an aid to look after your parent, which bumped the monthly fee up from $[fee removed]. You can go through money very quickly.
