Villa Sorrento Assisted Living

This service is so very worthy of an entire week of celebration. It has been my privilege to spend more than a decade getting to know the people of Villa Sorrento Assisted Living in Torrance, California. During that time, I have observed some of the most hardworking and caring people go consistently above and beyond to see that the residents have their needs met. One might ask why everyone there would do this. The answer is simple and basic. The staff and the residents and their families all see everyone as one big family. They listen to each other, help each other, and treat each other with respect. My mother came to live at Villa Sorrento for the last decade of her life. It was a place that her friends had told her about, and she looked forward to living there when the time came that she could no longer fully take care of herself. She was always excited to tell me about what she was doing each day: shopping trips, playing games, enjoying the entertainment, doing puzzles with others, petting the dogs that lived there, and so much more. From my perspective, I aways felt like the staff truly knew mom. They watched out for her as her health and mental capabilities declined. They kept me updated when she was no longer able to communicate well with me. And they made the hardest time fo all, her passing, a memorable and inclusive moment... no easy task during this pandemic time when I live 1200 miles aways. In addition to that, I would like to add, as a retired critical care nurse of nearly 30 years, they have done an excellent job of protecting the staff and residents during a pandemic. They deserve high praise for this! I still stay in touch with them. They are, after all, family to me.

This is how I feel every day, but on the occasion of Assisted Living Week, I want to express my family’s deep appreciation for all that you do for my Mom, Elvira Z. Over the last 12 years (since 2008!), every member of your team has cared for her as they would their own family. She lived at another assisted living place before I moved her to Villa Sorrento. I have seen other, newer, racier places, but none compare to the quality of attention and compassion for the residents as given by your staff, and evidenced by her long stay, and excellent health - for being 92 years old! Most importantly, she is happy with you. That, above all, reinforces the trust that we, her family, have placed in you. Thank you for all you do, providing high quality care in my Mom’s elderly years, so that all her family members can also enjoy quality of life. You help not just the residents, but their entire families as well. Please share my family’s appreciation with all your team members.

I find the level of care at Villa Sorrento to be very personable and professional. My search for my mother’s care was extensive at the time, but I found Villa Sorrento to be the best. I had a good feeling the moment I walked into the facility. All the people appear to be dedicated to their work, which has to be so difficult, especially at this time of the pandemic. The rooms are spotless and every request is tended to immediately. Everything is approached with a proactive attitude that considers the ever-changing needs of the tenants, which always gives me a sense of relief. Thank you again, and your dedication is certainly appreciated.

I wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful care and service you have given my mother. Her health has improved as well as her disposition. Everyone working at Villa Sorrento has shown kindness, respect and beyond that, a real sense of caring for the residents. Special requests are made possible with the help of the staff. The staff has also always kept me informed of any changes they see in Mom and how things might be made better. My mother also likes the food and feels pampered. During the COVID, I know it has been particularly challenging and I feel Villa Sorrento has handled the situation well. I would highly recommend Villa Sorrento. In gratitude. Warmest Regards
