“My grandpa received the worst care here I’ve ever seen. He would go hours throughout the day without a single person coming in to check on him or reposition him and because of this he ended up with a pressure wound. One day he was even hanging out of bed and the nurse came in to give him medicine but never even repositioned him in bed. Staff is not kind and refuses to listen to any of the family’s requests, even as simple as not putting him in another patient’s clothes. (There were two staff members that tried and were kind to my grandpa, and to them we are so thankful, but unfortunately it did not outshine the rest.) They would ignore what we said and even threw a note away that my grandma set on a pair of pants that were not his, the pants were put back with my grandpa’s clothes and the note was in the garbage. My grandpa is a diabetic and controlled it very well until coming here. He was hospitalized only a few days after arriving because his blood sugar was over 500. This was because no matter how many times we asked or how many people we talked to they only fed him carbs and sugar for every single meal. We asked for a menu so we could select what we want him to eat, but they said “we don’t have a menu and all the residents eat the same thing.” We brought in protein shakes and bars for him and simply asked for them to give those to him with his meals but they still couldn’t even manage to do that. Most incompetent staff and unfriendly environment. We thankfully just got him transferred to a better nursing home today. Bernice was a terrible manager and provided zero communication. She would not return any phone calls and even tried to stop the transfer to a different facility (she said to my mom “your problem is you are concerned with your dad’s blood sugar but the other patients don’t care”) If you love your family member, DO NOT SEND THEM HERE.”

“As a chaplain I’ve had the chance to go and visit many nursing homes, in these experiences I have come to understand the hardships that the families face with their loved ones being there and the challenges that the staff face. This being the case, I was extremely disappointed by the care that my father in law experienced at this nursing home. Not only did he experience outright neglect but what I would classify as elder abuse. Sadly when we tried to resolve some of these issues, not only did we find no one to help but also experienced nothing but a deaf ear. This is especially what we experienced with the charge nurse Bernice who showed no compassion. But I do hope that the owner reaches out to correct what our loved one faced so no one else has to go through this.”
