“Maranatha Care Center is truly a hidden gem in Brooklyn Center. My dad has been there for about a year, first in transitional care and now in long-term care, and we’ve had a very positive experience. The facility is clean, bright, and welcoming, with each resident having their own private bathroom and window—even in shared rooms, which really sets it apart from other facilities we visited. The staff are consistent, caring, and respectful, and it doesn’t feel like there’s high turnover. They are always responsive to needs, and the care center administrator, Megan, is especially amazing and quick to address any concerns. The physical, occupational and speech therapy team is outstanding and does a wonderful job working with older adults navigating major life changes. The staff also go out of their way to greet residents and family members by name, which creates a very personal and supportive environment. There’s a great variety of activities (not just the basics), including multiple options some days and even outings. The outdoor space is beautiful, with intentional landscaping that changes seasonally, and the indoor areas are just as inviting. I also really appreciate that they allow well-behaved, vaccinated pets to visit—it brings so much joy. Overall, I highly recommend Maranatha.”

“Be careful if you or a loved one goes here for therapy. Two pieces of equipment that they need to teach transfers: one the patient may slip through it and staff could be hurt, the other is too tall to fit through the bathroom door opening. Therefore the training needed for transferring is NOT being done. Mothers day my wife was told to soil herself in the recliner because the nurse told the aid the bed pan is "to uncomfortable". Breakfast was over but my wife didn't have a meal. The aid was to busy watching TV with the residents. Wife asked for pain meds, aid said " I'll let the nurse know but we're busy" an hour later I tracked the nurse down for the pain meds. I called to find out about her afternoon PT. Someone who could not speak English OR understand English hung up on me. Promises have been made by management but they are not followed through.”
