“There are some shining stars here, unfortunately they are the minority. My brother was at Pruitt for over 3 years, long term. the short term first floor was well staffed and residents attended to. The 2 and 3 floors were a completely different story. It was RARE to get someone to answer the phone after hours and on weekends. I’ve called 911 because my brother had called me saying nobody was coming and he hadn’t had dinner. he nor his roommate. his laundry was never done and the administrators said they only had one washer or dryer and they were trying to get another one. that was the case for over a year. i visit every weekend and ive had my shoes come off of my feet because the floor was so sticky. i’ve seen an aid in the room asleep and a second time on his phone in a chair hanging out. the food was horrible, i took or delivered food when i could. because of miscommunication between staff, he was forced to use his walker to go to bathroom, which resulted in him falling, leg broken and major surgery which he hasn’t walked since. over two years ago. i had contacted them and told them that his feet were numb and he couldn’t walk right now. i talked to the head nurse who admitted that it wasn’t passed along to the cnas. there were multiple times that his call button was intentionally disabled because someone put a ‘straw’ in it. so if he needed help it would’ve never come. the physical therapy is a joke. i asked many times for a different approach to get him on his feet after his leg injury. i went to the facility for a few sessions and i was shocked at the lack of enthusiasm from the team. for all of my issues, i talked to every manager of the different teams. ive taken all of these complaints to administrators, but the administrator turnover is unbelievable and nothing seems to be done about anything. my brother had aspirated pneumonia twice and this last time we got him moved to a different facility. things seems to be much better there. there are some really great staff at pruitt, but few and far between. i would not recommend this facility for long term care.”

“Absolutely the worst my mom has been there a week and we about to bring het home instead. She hasn’t had a shower or even her blood pressure monitor like she should be that is the whole point of being there at this time. She hasn’t asked repeatedly for things and never gets them. Not even a simple request to bath before a specialties appointment at duke can be done at this place. I age. Not gotten any calls either lie I was told I would be from anyone higher up at. Sad when she isn’t even getting her medication like the Dr has ordered. Don’t let the photos here fool you either the rooms look nothing like this.”
