My mom and I transitioned my grandma to a great assisted living facility, thanks to The Assisted Living Specialist! They had amazing managers who listed to my concerns and expectations that I wanted my grandma to have. The compassionate care helped find the perfect one! I'm so happy that they took the time to hear me and find the right one based off what I was looking for and it helped me a ton because I didn't have to call around to various ones. This is a fantastic organization. We switched to them from another long term hospice company and the difference was noticeable. The owner and staff are personable and caring. They are knowledgeable and helpful. The peace of mind this company can give you during a tough time is invaluable. They kept me updated regularly on the condition of my elder loved one and helped manage her needs. Towards the end, their 24x7 coverage was exceptional. A few years back, my sister and I thought it was time for Assisted Living for our mother. We spent a lot of time calling facilities, making appointments, going from place to place, getting information, getting quotes, and asking what we thought were all the right questions. After all that leg work, we were left worn out and with our heads spinning. We had to jump through a lot of hoops for scheduling, quotes seemed very high, and we just didn't feel comfortable enough to make a decision. Luckily, we did not have to as our mother still seemed to be doing OK on her own. Fast forward to October of this year (2023) and it was definitely time for this next step for our mother, but my sister and I were overwhelmed at the prospect of doing the search all over again. In comes The Assisted Living Specialist. I had heard of this company through the grapevine and that they do all the legwork for you with no money out of pocket. So, why not give it a shot? We were immediately put in touch with Janette. It was immediately clear that she knew this business inside and out. Completely familiar with the area we were looking at and, after a brief assessment of our mother's health & needs, had several recommendations of facilities that would best fit her needs. And beyond physical and social needs, the places Janette recommended also fit very well within our budget. And these last few points are huge. When we first looked, we were looking at places that were huge (possibly harder for our mom to navigate) and had tons of amenities (nothing wrong with amenities, but some maybe unnecessary resulting in exorbitant prices). After getting to know us and our mom a bit more, Janette recommended facilities that were much better suited for her; smaller, more homey places, with residents similar to my mom's care needs and age. And, again, well within our budget. So we toured several of these places Janette selected for us, had lunch at a few, met with all the right people, met staff, met other residents, and all this was coordinated by Janette. She just told us when to be there and we were taken care of immediately. It was all handled very efficiently and very quickly. We were torn between a few places, but Janette discussed pros and cons with us and we were able to make a decision that was comfortable for ALL of us and our budget. So Mom is moved in, she is happy, she is thriving, and my sister and I are breathing a sigh of relief that this is done and it was pretty easy and painless thanks to Janette and The Assisted Living Specialist.
