The Kensington Reston

My mom lived at Kensington Park in the Groves building (memory care), I couldn’t have been happier with the care and support she received while she lived there. Not only did the amazing team take care of mom, but they were always there to support the family also. They are the most compassionate, caring group of people I have known.

We strive to please our residents and families every time they dine so they are eager to return.

The Kensington Reston has made my parents’ transition from independent living to assisted living so smooth . They have welcomed them so warmly, worked hard with us to make their move as seamless as possible, and have helped us navigate all the different aspects necessary, such as scheduling doctor’s appointments, getting movers that understand the needs of seniors who are relocating, etc. The first morning the staff made sure to have my mom’s favorite flavored coffee waiting for her at breakfast. A small detail, one that didn’t really matter, but one that made my mother so incredibly happy . It is that attention to personal details and care that is so rare and so important. The staff has gone above and beyond to meet my parents’ needs and preferences, and to also keep me and my brother informed of all the important aspects, such as changes in medication schedules or asking for our input about activity choices. I cannot recommend The Kensington Reston more highly than I already do.

The staff is extremely caring and very responsive . I often receive emails or a phone call with updates and when I reach out I always get a prompt response. Every member of the team from the kitchen staff, to the caregivers, nurses and activity people know my mom well and are always friendly and engaging with her. The facility itself is beautiful and extremely clean. I am also impressed by the number of staff working each day even on a holiday.

Finding the right assisted living facility for my parents was a daunting task, but I’m so glad I went with the recommendation from a very knowledgeable geriatric professional to choose The Kensington Reston! Since my parents moved in about a month ago, I’ve been consistently impressed with the warm and welcoming staff, the fantastic care management team as well as the great food and array of activities available to them. I’m so relieved to know my parents are receiving the best care possible.

My parents moved to the Kensington in Reston and it has been a wonderful experience. The quality of care is excellent , the staff is highly professional , and the communication with family members is exceptional . The cherry on top is a stunningly beautiful and welcoming physical environment that feels like home . Each time I visit, it feels alive and vibrant with residents around and about, and staff interacting with them in caring and compassionate ways. It is truly a special place.

The communication with the family each step of the way, and even once my parents were settled in has been a breath of fresh air. They alert us to changes in medication, and let us know about the little things, such as sending us a quick photo of them enjoying a group activity. The Kensington staff cares. They treat my parents with dignity. I feel good knowing my parents are safe, cared for, and happy.
